These days, so much of my time at home is spent managing our teething, on the move, 9 month old.
Ava has been so patient with me. Coming up to me with hugs and kisses...helping where she can.
But, tonight was all about her and her accomplishments in Kindergarten.
Open House night may not seem like a huge deal to most but it was so emotional for me.
Sometimes I forget that this girl has only known English for two years.
Sometimes I forget that this life she lives now is a world away from everything she knew about life before.
If she was failing and struggling, that would be completley justified.
But she's not. She is thriving, persevering, proving everyone wrong.
And, it's not because of us...it's 100% her hard work and determination to succeed.
We are proud.
She proudly lead us to her room. She was so excited. Even more excited to be there than to get the ice cream I had promised her afterward. That is serious!
Daddy and her picked out a book from the Book Fair. Our little book worm just couldn't wait to read it.
The class had gone on a Field trip to a farm a few weeks ago and the entire room was full of activities based on that trip. It was amazing. Her teacher is over the top FANTASTIC! Ava wrote this about her field trip..."Ducks have webbed feet. Ducks can swim." Loving her drawing skills too.
I love my Kindergartner.
Ava told me earlier this week that Gregory is her prince. He is a good friend and Ava's first crush. We will miss him next year.
Like I said, not even ice cream could tear her away from school.
Judson found plenty to do while sissy played.
He is such a boy...we love him.
I truly can't believe that Kindergarten is almost over. This is such a sweet time that we will never have back.
We sure are thankful for all the blessings that this year has brought.
For all that she has learned and experienced.
I heart Kindergarten!
She is really an excellent drawer! I love your girl! And your boy is pretty stinking cute too!
ReplyDeleteLove her picture and her writing ~ Way to go Ava! She has come a long way over the past two years and the world better watch out because God has something awesome planned for that sweet, wonderful, determined little girl.
ReplyDeleteDidn't get too emotional last night, but I certainly did today ready this. You do such a nice job documenting the things we want to remember forever. Thanks for your hard work Sweets!
