I wish I could say that this move to the country was paved with flawless faith
Truth is, it's been hard.
There have been tears and a lot of questioning...
What did we do?!?!
We are over our heads in house projects and boxes and a land that needs a lot of attention.
And yet, there is a peace and a definite sense that this is home, and this is right.
(One of my favorite little stretches on our property...the macadamia nut grove.)
We loved our little home on Geranium Drive oh so much.
It was exactly where we needed to be for that season in life.
God used our time there, no question.
One thing he did while we were there was open our eyes to a different kind of lifestyle.
After move in, we began to meet people...at church, at tennis, at classes...People who lived on a little piece of land and lived off it.
They gardened and had animals and didn't have an HOA telling them what color to paint their house.
This kind of life never occurred to me while living in Orange County.
And then some of our best friends also moved from the suburbs to a little farm tucked up away on a mountain and we began attending church with them.
The more exposure we had to country living the more we could see it for ourselves.
I became really interested in keeping a garden.
Every night, after the kids would go to sleep, I would study up on different flowers and vegetables and how to grow them.
We got some backyard chickens as well and have had a blast raising and caring for them.
Simple living was calling our name
God was stirring something in our hearts.

For over a year we looked at homes and came up empty until we found a place that really spoke to us.
This place!
We are really thankful that the Lord brought us here.
(The first little wall that feels like us and feels like home.)
