Our Homeschool Year... Language Arts

We read some really fun books this year!

Ava is a book worm.  She could look at books and listen to stories all day.
Judson started to learn how to read, during the second half of the year, and Thatcher worked on learning his letters.

Some books I read aloud this year:

Tornado
Poppy
Helen Keller Biography
One day in the Tropical Rain forest
A Question of Yams

And some picture books that we used as a springboard for creative learning:
Millions of Cats
We're going on a leaf hunt
Fireflies
Night in the Country
Owl Babies
Rain
Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin
But no Elephants
The Quilt Story
Harold and the Purple Crayon

(We always write after we read.  The best way to make connections)

(Rhyming memory game.  A definite favorite for this little learner.)

(Ahh, so much improvement in penmanship throughout the year!  Yay Jud!)

(T loves making stick puppets during read aloud time.  And Daddy loves hearing all about them when he comes home!)

Another wonderful year reading and discussing literature together!
