Family Birthdays!

February Birthdays were especially special this year because Mom turned 60!

We are thankful for her and all that she gives to her family!

Attack of the hair!  Happy Birthday Sweetheart.  I'm sorry this was the only picture we got this weekend.  I LOVE you and am so proud to call you mine.

Happy Birthday SEESTER! Thank you for being such a kind, loyal friend to me and for loving my babies.  We LOVE you Auntie!

We started the birthday weekend with a walk around Seaport Village.

And then over to the Midway, which was so surprisingly fun for us all!

The next day we went to the ZOO.

Going to the Zoo is always a treat, but this trip was extra special as we got a behind the scenes tour of the Elephants!

We learned that all the elephants at the SD Zoo are there for end of life care.

The youngest elephant in this exhibit is over 30.

Most of them have been taken in from traveling Circuses.

One of them was kept in a backyard and had not seen another elephant for 30 years.

She is now integrated into the herd.  

I love when the underdog gets a happy ending.

The boys even got to sweep up the elephants' hay with the Zoo Keeper's four year old twins!

They were as excited about these new friends, as they were about the elephants.  

What an enjoyable weekend celebrating some of my very favorite people!
